These boxes are made of oak and measure 4" x 6", or alder and measure 5" x 7". They make a great special "treasure" box for jewelry or other items. They also make a wonderful way to present a special gift. Each box features a stained glass design and is unique.

For several years I worked in mosaics with young people creating murals. At the same time I was working in sterling silver and bronze creating jewelry with botanical and other themes. My interest in combining these two worlds led to micro mosaics. This Italian tradition was prevelant during the 19th and 20th centuries. They were made as souvenirs for those making a "Grand Tour". My mosaic pendants use Italian glass called smalti like the originals did, as well as other materials such as stained glass, stone, ceramic, and metal. My designs have a contemporary feel and sense of play. Some have been compared to zen gardens and abstract paintings. I use both my designs for the bezel (holder), and others'.

These wall pieces were created over the last 4 years and include smalti(Italian glass), stained glass, and various kinds of stone. Texture, tension, andamento, and color form the language used. The newest works are abstracted landscapes. Texture and flow are the dominant qualities.
