A mezzuzah is a special holder for a blessing in Judaism. Jewish homes place them on the door post as a reminder to live in a moral way or to think of God. Often they have the Hebrew letter "shin" which stands for one of the names of God. The tradition comes from the Passover story where the Israelites marked their door posts. I have used various materials; mixing stone, marble, glass and more. One commission used turquoise stone that had been blessed by the Dalai Lama. |
